Describe a Leisure Activity That is Popular in your Country Sample Answer 1
Cricket is one of the most popular leisure activities in my country, India. It is not just a sport here—it’s a national obsession. Whether it's children playing in the streets or adults watching international matches, cricket brings people together in a way few things do.
People usually play cricket in open grounds, school fields, or even on quiet roads using improvised equipment like sticks and tennis balls. Professional games are played in stadiums and broadcast live on TV, attracting millions of viewers.
People enjoy this activity because it is both entertaining and competitive. It allows players to work as a team, improve their fitness, and bond with others. For spectators, it’s a thrilling experience, especially during high-stakes matches like India vs. Pakistan.
Personally, I enjoy watching cricket with friends and family. The excitement of a close match and the shared joy of a win make it memorable. However, what I dislike is how overly commercialized it has become. Sometimes, the focus shifts from the sport to endorsements and fame, which takes away from its purity. Still, cricket remains a cherished part of Indian culture and my personal leisure time.

Describe a Leisure Activity That is Popular in your Country Sample Answer 2
In my country, people get involved in several leisure activities to enjoy their time with friends and families. “Sports” always binds people together. On such a note, the leisure activity or sport which is widely popular in our country is Football.
People, especially kids, do not need nets and trimmed playgrounds to play the game. The game is an emotion for them. Playing on the muddy ground on a rainy day can give you chills. The Kolkata derby has always been the greatest in the world, with the El Classico being equally famous. The clash between Ronaldo and Messi, the two most outstanding of the same generation, has its perk. Sunil Chhetri, Anirudh Thapa, Adil Khan and many others are few other popular personalities who have paved the way to Asian Cup.
Football is the type of game where people can sit for 90 minutes without assumption. The excitement from minute 1 to min 90 remains absolutely the same. It needs no prior planning except for the formations. People sit there and pitch for their favourite team and hope to win. Many colleges and schools hold football tournaments for entertainment too.
Football is an emotion, even to me. This is the sport where you can fight like cats and dogs for pitching for your respective team or play for it. But, at the end of the day, you all will be ending it on a happy note. That is the beauty of the game that binds people together as one. They might have differences of opinion, but the love for the game is eternal.
Describe a Leisure Activity That is Popular in your Country Sample Answer 3
One of the most popular leisure activities in my country is yoga. Rooted in Indian tradition, yoga is both a physical and mental practice that combines stretches, breathing exercises, and meditation. It’s suitable for all age groups and requires very little equipment.
People usually do yoga at home, in public parks, or at wellness centers. Many attend early morning classes conducted by certified instructors. With the rise in health awareness, yoga has gained massive popularity among youngsters and the elderly alike.
The main reason people enjoy yoga is because it brings balance to their lives. It reduces stress, improves flexibility, and enhances focus. It’s not just a form of exercise but also a way to connect with inner peace and calm.
Personally, I like yoga because it helps me start the day with a fresh and focused mind. After a session, I feel more energized and emotionally stable. The only thing I dislike is that it takes time and discipline to see results. People often lose patience and give up early. But if practiced regularly, yoga can truly transform your physical and mental well-being.
